    Round decimals.
    Round the numbers.

    ๐Ÿ™‚ = Correct, โ˜น๏ธ = Incorrect

    ๐Ÿ“Œ Rules

โ€ข Identify the target place value: Find the digit in the place you are rounding to (e.g. whole number/ones, tenths, or hundredths).

โ€ข Look at the decider digit (the digit to the right): Check the next digit directly to the right of your target place.

โ€“ If the decider digit is 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9, round up (add 1 to the target digit).

โ€“ If the decider digit is 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4, round down (keep the target digit the same).

    ๐Ÿ’ก Tips

    โ€ข Examples of rounding:

โ€“ Rounding 3.74 to the nearest whole number: decider digit is 7, so round up to 4.

โ€“ Rounding 5.283 to 1 decimal place (tenths): decider digit is 8, so round up to 5.3.

โ€“ Rounding 8.142 to 2 decimal places (hundredths): decider digit is 2, so round down to 8.14.

โ€ข Quick typing on our platform: Typing your answer is designed to be super quick and simple! Just type plain digits or decimals like 4, 5.3, or 8.14 without adding any spaces or extra words.

    โš ๏ธ Warnings

โ€ข Drop digits after the target place: Do not leave trailing digits after the place value you rounded to! For example, rounding 4.37 to 1 decimal place gives 4.4, not 4.40 or 4.47.

โ€ข Watch out for 9 rolling over: If you need to round up a 9 (e.g. rounding 2.96 to 1 decimal place), the 9 becomes 0 and carries 1 to the column on the left, giving 3.0.
