Safeguarding & Privacy

Safe by Design

MathsForSATs has been designed from the ground up to provide children with a safe, engaging and distraction-free learning environment while giving schools complete control over how the platform is used.

Whether you’re a parent, teacher, school leader or part of a multi-academy trust, safeguarding and privacy remain at the heart of every decision we make.

Quick Summary

Learning Resources

All worksheets, SATs questions, detective mysteries, games and activities are written, reviewed and approved by qualified, DBS-checked UK teachers.

Learning materials are accessed securely through the website and cannot be downloaded, helping maintain a safe and controlled learning environment.

Communication

Children cannot communicate with other users through MathsForSATs.

There are:

  • no chat rooms
  • no private messaging
  • no discussion boards
  • no social networking features

This prevents unsupervised interaction between users.

Flexible Pupil Identification

Every school has its own safeguarding and data protection procedures.

MathsForSATs has been designed to work alongside them.

Schools decide how pupils are identified on the platform. For example, you may choose to use:

  • first names only
  • initials
  • teacher-created identifiers (e.g. Puffin 1, Puffin 2, Puffin 3)
  • pupil numbers
  • any other naming convention recognised by your school

As long as teachers can identify their pupils, MathsForSATs functions exactly the same.

This allows schools and trusts to choose the level of pupil identification that best reflects their own safeguarding and GDPR policies.

Minimal Personal Data

MathsForSATs is designed to operate using the minimum amount of pupil information necessary.

Schools remain in control of the information they choose to provide, and no unnecessary personal data is required for children to benefit from the platform.

AI & User-Generated Content

MathsForSATs does not use AI chatbots or unmoderated AI-generated content.

Users cannot upload files, images or text to the platform, ensuring all learning materials remain teacher-written, reviewed and appropriate for primary-aged pupils.

Advertising

MathsForSATs contains no third-party advertising, sponsored content or external pop-ups.

Children can focus entirely on learning without commercial distractions.

Privacy & Security

All data is processed in accordance with UK GDPR and recognised safeguarding principles.

We do not sell personal data or share pupil information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

Our systems are regularly reviewed to help maintain appropriate security and protect user information.

Trust-Wide Reporting

Where multiple schools within a multi-academy trust use MathsForSATs, trust leaders receive educational insights designed to support school improvement.

Individual pupil identification always remains under the control of each participating school, allowing trusts to benefit from trust-wide visibility while respecting each school’s chosen data protection approach.

Age-Appropriate Learning

Every activity on MathsForSATs is designed specifically for Key Stage 2 pupils.

Content is carefully reviewed to ensure it is suitable, engaging and appropriate for primary-aged children while supporting the Year 6 mathematics curriculum.

Our Safeguarding Philosophy

Safeguarding is not an additional feature. It is part of how MathsForSATs has been designed.

By removing unnecessary communication features, limiting personal data, eliminating advertising, and allowing schools to control how pupils are identified, we aim to provide a secure learning environment where children can focus on what matters most:

Learning with confidence. Growing with curiosity. Moving forward every day.
