    Multiply decimals by integers.
Perform multiplication to solve mathematical equations accurately.

    ๐Ÿ™‚ = Correct, โ˜น๏ธ = Incorrect

    ๐Ÿ“Œ Rules

โ€ข Multiply as whole numbers first: Ignore the decimal point and multiply the numbers as if they were both integers (e.g. for 3.24 ร— 6, first calculate 324 ร— 6 = 1944).

โ€ข Count and place the decimal point: Count the total number of decimal places in the original question and insert the decimal point so your answer has the exact same number of decimal places (e.g. 3.24 has 2 decimal places, so 1944 becomes 19.44).

    ๐Ÿ’ก Tips

โ€ข Use estimation to check your answer: Round the decimal to the nearest whole number to estimate the answer first (e.g. 3.24 ร— 6 is roughly 3 ร— 6 = 18, which confirms 19.44 is reasonable, not 194.4 or 1.944).

โ€ข Quick typing on our platform: Typing your answer is designed to be super quick and simple! Just type plain digits or decimals like 19.44 or 7.5 without adding any spaces, words, or extra symbols.

    โš ๏ธ Warnings

โ€ข Align decimal points in column multiplication: If using short or long multiplication, keep the decimal point aligned directly above in your answer line, or insert it after counting places.

โ€ข Do not drop placeholder zeros too early: If your multiplication ends in a zero (e.g. 0.25 ร— 4 = 1.00), keep the zeros while counting decimal places before simplifying to 1.
