    Multiply decimals by 10, 100 and 1,000.
Perform multiplication to solve mathematical equations.

    ๐Ÿ™‚ = Correct, โ˜น๏ธ = Incorrect

    ๐Ÿ“Œ Rules

โ€ข Shift digits to the left: When multiplying by 10, 100, or 1,000, every digit moves to the left to make the number larger.

    โ€“ ร— 10: Move digits 1 place to the left (e.g. 0.45 ร— 10 = 4.5).

    โ€“ ร— 100: Move digits 2 places to the left (e.g. 0.45 ร— 100 = 45).

    โ€“ ร— 1,000: Move digits 3 places to the left (e.g. 0.45 ร— 1,000 = 450).

โ€ข Count the zeros: The number of zeros in 10 (1 zero), 100 (2 zeros), or 1,000 (3 zeros) tells you how many place value columns to shift digits to the left.

    ๐Ÿ’ก Tips

โ€ข Use zero as a placeholder: If you run out of digits when shifting to the left, fill the empty ones column or place value spaces with zero. For example, 3.2 ร— 100 = 320.

โ€ข Quick typing on our platform: Typing your answer is designed to be super quick and simple! Just type plain digits or decimals like 4.5, 45, or 450 without adding any spaces, commas, or extra words.

    โš ๏ธ Warnings

โ€ข Do not just “add zeros” to the end of a decimal: Adding a zero to the right of a decimal point does not change its value (e.g. 0.450 is still equal to 0.45)! You must shift the digits across the decimal point.

โ€ข Do not move digits to the right: Moving digits to the right makes a number smaller (division). Remember that multiplication always makes numbers larger!
