    Decimal and fraction equivalents.
Decimals and fractions tell the same story in different ways. Can you rewrite each tale by converting it into its matching form?
Write all fractions in their simplest form.

    ๐Ÿ™‚ = Correct, โ˜น๏ธ = Incorrect

    ๐Ÿ“Œ Rules

โ€ข Convert decimals to fractions using place value: Place the digits over the denominator corresponding to the last place value (1/10, 1/100, or 1/1000) and simplify. For example, 0.85 = 85/100, which simplifies to 17/20 (by dividing numerator and denominator by 5).

โ€ข Convert fractions to decimals by dividing: Divide the numerator by the denominator (top รท bottom). Alternatively, convert the fraction to an equivalent one with a denominator of 10, 100, or 1,000. For example, 3/5 = 6/10 = 0.6, or 3/8 = 3 รท 8 = 0.375.

    ๐Ÿ’ก Tips

โ€ข Memorise key equivalent benchmark pairs:

    โ€“ 1/2 = 0.5

    โ€“ 1/4 = 0.25, 3/4 = 0.75

    โ€“ 1/5 = 0.2, 2/5 = 0.4, 3/5 = 0.6, 4/5 = 0.8

    โ€“ 1/8 = 0.125, 3/8 = 0.375, 5/8 = 0.625, 7/8 = 0.875

โ€ข Quick typing on our platform: Typing your answer is designed to be super quick and simple! For fractions, use a forward slash like 17/20 or 3/4. For decimals, type plain digits like 0.6 or 0.375 without adding any spaces.

    โš ๏ธ Warnings

โ€ข Always fully simplify fractions: Leaving an answer as 85/100 or 6/10 instead of simplifying to 17/20 or 3/5 will be marked incorrect!

โ€ข Include leading zeros in decimals: Always write 0.6 or 0.375 rather than starting with a decimal point (.6 or .375).
