    Area of a right-angled triangle.
Get ready to explore the world of right-angled triangles and how to calculate their area using base and height. Your challenge is to solve each task accurately and prove your mastery of triangle measurements.

    🙂 = Correct, ☹️ = Incorrect

    📌 Rules

    • Use the area formula for right-angled triangles:Area = (base × height) ÷ 2 (or 1/2 × base × height).

    • Identify the perpendicular sides: In a right-angled triangle, the base and height are the two shorter sides that meet at the 90° right angle. Multiply these two lengths together first, then divide the answer by 2.

    💡 Tips

    • Halve one even side first to simplify calculations: If the base or height is an even number, halve it before multiplying to make mental maths easier! For example, for a triangle with base 8 cm and height 7 cm: calculate (8 ÷ 2) × 7 = 4 × 7 = 28 cm².

    • Right-angled triangles are half of a rectangle: Think of a right-angled triangle as exactly one half of a rectangle with length = base and width = height.

    • Quick typing on our platform: Typing your answer is designed to be super quick and simple! Just type plain numbers or decimals like 24 or 17.5 without adding unit labels (e.g. cm, cm², m²) or extra spaces.

    ⚠️ Warnings

    • Ignore the hypotenuse (slanted side): The longest side opposite the right angle is called the hypotenuse. Never use the hypotenuse length to calculate the area of a right-angled triangle!

    • Always divide by 2: Forgetting to halve base × height gives the area of a full rectangle, not a triangle!
