    Area and perimeter.
Find the solutions to the mathematical problems.

    πŸ™‚ = Correct, ☹️ = Incorrect

    πŸ“Œ Rules

β€’ Calculate Perimeter (Distance around the outside edge): Add the lengths of all outer sides together.

    – Rectangle:Perimeter = 2 Γ— (length + width) or 2l + 2w.

    – Compound Shapes: Find all missing side lengths first by comparing parallel opposite sides, then sum all outer edges.

β€’ Calculate Area (Space inside the 2D shape):

    – Rectangle / Square:Area = length Γ— width.

    – Triangle:Area = (base Γ— perpendicular height) Γ· 2.

    – Parallelogram:Area = base Γ— perpendicular height.

    – Compound Shapes: Split the shape into smaller rectangles, calculate the area of each, and add them together.

    πŸ’‘ Tips

β€’ Identify correct triangle dimensions: Always use the height that meets the base at a 90Β° right angle. Ignore slanted side lengths when calculating the area of a triangle!

β€’ Quick typing on our platform: Typing your answer is designed to be super quick and simple! Just type plain digits like 24 or 36 without adding units (e.g. cm, cmΒ², m, mΒ²) or extra spaces.

    ⚠️ Warnings

β€’ Do not confuse perimeter and area formulas: Remember that perimeter is adding all outer boundary lines (linear measurement), whereas area is multiplying dimensions (square measurement).

β€’ Don’t forget to divide by 2 for triangles: Forgetting to halve base Γ— height is the most common mistake when calculating the area of a triangle!
