Multiply up to a 4-digit number by a 2-digit number
    Don’t include any symbols.

    πŸ™‚ = Correct, ☹️ = Incorrect

    πŸ“Œ Rules

β€’ Imagine a school buying 23 packs of stickers with 1234 stickers in each pack. To find the total, set up long multiplication in neat columns with 1234 on top and 23 underneath.

β€’ First, multiply 1234 by the 3 ones (1234 Γ— 3 = 3702). Next, multiply 1234 by the 2 tens (20). Put a zero in the ones column first, then multiply 1234 by 2 to get 24680. Finally, add 3702 and 24680 together to get 28382.

    πŸ’‘ Tips

β€’ Always write a zero in the ones column before multiplying by the tens digit. In our sticker example with 23, the 2 means 20, so putting a 0 ensures 1234 Γ— 20 gives 24680 rather than 2468.

β€’ Typing your answer on our platform is super quick and friendly: enter plain digits only, such as 28382. There is no need to add any spaces or commas because our input fields handle everything automatically for you.

    ⚠️ Warnings

β€’ Do not forget to add any small digits you carry over. For instance, when multiplying 4 Γ— 3 = 12 in the ones column of 1234 Γ— 3, write down 2 and carry 1 to add to your next multiplication step.

β€’ Do not stop after completing the second row. Multiplying by the ones gives 3702 and multiplying by the tens gives 24680, but you must add both rows together at the end to complete the calculation.
