    Square and cube numbers
    Don’t include any symbols.

    πŸ™‚ = Correct, ☹️ = Incorrect

    πŸ“Œ Rules

β€’ A square number is what you get when you multiply a whole number by itself. Imagine a square grid of chocolates that is 5 rows long and 5 columns wide. You can find the total by calculating 5 Γ— 5 to get 25 chocolate squares.

β€’ A cube number is what you get when you multiply a whole number by itself three times. Picture a 3D block made of tiny building cubes that is 5 cubes wide, 5 cubes long, and 5 cubes high. You multiply 5 Γ— 5 Γ— 5 to find the total of 125 small blocks.

    πŸ’‘ Tips

    β€’ Look out for small floating power numbers. A little 2 means square the number (5Β² = 5 Γ— 5), and a little 3 means cube the number (5Β³ = 5 Γ— 5 Γ— 5).

β€’ When typing big answers like 1000000 on our platform, you can keep things quick and simple. Our number boxes are designed for plain digits only, so there is no need to add any spaces or commas.

    ⚠️ Warnings

    β€’ Do not just multiply the base number by 2 or 3. For example, 5Β² is 5 Γ— 5 (which is 25), not 5 Γ— 2 (which is 10).

β€’ Take your time when calculating cube numbers. Work out the first multiplication first (such as 5 Γ— 5 = 25), then multiply that new result by the base number again (25 Γ— 5 = 125).
